join your local community garden

We joined one in 2011 and haven't looked back. Sure, anytime you get a group of people together you learn a lot about relating. Which I actually think is a skill we can all get better at and that we really need for the functioning of society. Getting to know our neighbors, learning about gardening and having a space to do it is one of the great joys of my life. Highly recommend!
